We don't want to end up on the sidewalk

According to the EPA, furniture is the number one least-recycled item in a household and it was only until 2008 that there was a recovery greater than 0.05% since the 1960s.

That's why we are committed to designing a circular furniture system that will grow and change with you. And when it no longer does, it can easily be disassembled and recycled.

Materials Matter

By choosing single origin materials, our system supports environmental and human health while also having intrinsic beauty that will patina over time.

Chemical free

We use GOLS certified organic latex in all our cushioned products and natural fibers for our covers. All our finishes are plant based and 100% VOC free.

Mindful Milling

We work with a family owned mill that's been in operation for four generations and source our hardwoods from responsibly managed American forests.

Understanding the lifecycle of timber is an important part of our design practice and one that lends history and warmth to our furniture.

Our wood sourcing policy

We are committed to the responsible use of forest resources, including the wood used in our furniture.

It is for that reason we work with our suppliers on an ongoing basis to eliminate wood from unacceptable sources and to progressively increase the amount of responsible wood - wood from certified and recycled/reclaimed sources - procured over time.

Loose Parts recognizes the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) as an important tool to promote responsible forest management. We have a preference for sourcing FSC-certified wood whenever possible. However, we understand that lumber certification is a complex issue and therefore prioritize the use of American harvested timber from responsibly managed forests when FSC certification is not available.

Loose Parts is also firmly committed to avoiding wood from unacceptable sources, including:

+ Illegally harvested or traded timber

+ Timber harvested in violation of traditional civil rights

+ Timber harvested from areas in which high conservation values are threatened by poor forest management

+ Timber harvested from areas being converted from forests to plantations or non-forest use

+ Timber from forests in which genetically modified trees are planted

Through this Policy, Loose Parts seeks to set a positive example for our peers and to do our part to protect the world’s forests.

Assembly Required

By reimagining furniture as a system rather than a stand alone object we can reduce waste and minimize our impact on the environment. In other words, we make it easy to update a part rather than having to throw out your furniture.
